The Story of B-Rad

It all started with a text… “Hey do you want to plan my son's wedding?”

At the that time, little ole B-Rad was working a marketing internship with some of the best coworkers to date when one coworker, who I am forever grateful for sent me that exact text.

I loved hosting events, so I responded: “Umm.. LOL.. sure. Let’s talk”. At this time I had no formal training, I googled the steps on how to plan a wedding and threw together an “initial meeting questionnaire” to prepare for that first meeting. Turns out the Bride + Groom lived out of state, and momma-bear (who also lived out of the area) needed some help.

They had their ceremony location, their reception space, caterer and photographer secured. After that, they had some ideas but really didn’t know how to pull everything together.. And to be honest, I wasn’t sure how to pull it together either, but I was confident I could figure it out.

It was a HOT weekend in August of 2018, and the wedding day went off without a hitch! The vendor team was stellar including my little group of friends I asked to be an extra set of hands. The entire day ran on schedule and I must add my first wedding was a tented wedding with a live band… IYKYK.

When the night ended I was walking to my car with my now husband and I felt on-top of the moon. I looked at him and said “why don’t I do this for a living?”, his answer, “you should ask yourself that question…”

Shout out to the vendors of my very first wedding! You are the real MVP’s! Read about that wedding here.

January 2019, I took a leap with my good friend Google and formed an LLC, worked with my dear friend to create a logo, scraped together a website and took an online wedding planning certification course. I knew that being a newbie to the industry I needed some additional training and wanted some proof that I knew what I was doing… February 2019 I made my first Facebook post announcing my new adventure, and the rest is history…

Since that Facebook post I have met and worked with some of the most incredible people, both couples, families and vendor partners. I have grown my team and have ran a business that I am truly so proud of

PSST…

On a side note, B-Rad is not my full time gig.. Can you believe it? ;) This passionate wedding planning chick has another job?? Yes, and I LOVE IT. In addition to running B-Rad, I am a marketing professional in the Medical Device Industry. Why do I mention this you ask? Because it IS possible to do both. Could B-Rad be full time, absolutely. But I have chosen to wear multiple hats, and I am the happiest that way. So often people feel that they must give something up to do something else, and in my situation that is not the case. B-Rad is built on the passion for helping others, we strive to make moments B-Rad, B-Memorable and B-Yours, and if that means the B-Rad team serves 20 clients a year rather than 80, we are a- okay with that!

With a grateful heart, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone on this journey with me for last 5 years. CHEERS to the years to come!

XO

Brittany
